At week 29 your baby's muscles and lungs keep maturing, and the kicks can be strong enough to take your breath away.
Your baby this week
- Muscles and lungs
- Both are maturing, ready for life outside.
- Head
- The head is growing to make room for the developing brain.
- Strong kicks
- Movements are powerful and easy to see from outside.
What you might notice
- Constipation and heartburn, both often worse now.
- Varicose veins in the legs. Moving often and putting your feet up help.
- Tiredness returning as you carry more weight.
- Feeling breathless doing ordinary things.
Call your midwife, doctor or maternity unit today if
- Your face, hands or feet swell suddenly, or you have a bad headache or blurred vision
- You have bleeding, fluid leaking, or regular tightenings or period-like cramps
- Your baby's movements have slowed down or changed
- You have strong itching, especially on your hands and feet
Any time of day or night. You will never be a nuisance for calling.
